Dunbar Primary School, East Lothian

This year to celebrate European Languages Day we held an online video assembly for our 1200+ learners across the two school campuses. 



The video featured greetings in different European languages, photos of our language learning journey here at Dunbar Primary School, video clips of our language learning in class and finally we enjoyed familiar songs in different languages.

St Columba's High School, Inverclyde

European Day of Languages celebrations at St Columba's High School included:

  • S1 - took part in a British Sign Language taster with help from S6 language leaders 

  • S2 - completed a research task on a famous European person and presented to the class in pairs


  • S2 - made their own board games to test their knowledge of Europe and different languages



  • All year groups - each day answered the register in a different language
